The colors in the chancel area are green signifying the season of the Christian liturgical calendar of “Ordinary Time.” The English name “ordinary time” translates the Latin term “Tempus per annum (literally “time through the year”). Ordinary time comprises two periods through the liturgical year: one beginning on the day after the Baptism of the Lord Sunday (the end of the Christmas Season) and ending on the day before Ash Wednesday; the other beginning on the Monday after Pentecost (conclusion of Eastertide) and continuing until the Saturday before Advent Sunday (the first Sunday of Advent). The Communion table has “Holy, Holy, Holy” representing the Trinity and echoing the words of the Saints “Holy, Holy, Holy, blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord.” The banner from the pulpit has the symbols of the Alpha and the Omega intertwined. The lectern has a simple cross. All are green including the colors in the Reredo.
